Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury is classified as blunt-force trauma to one’s head manifesting as physical and mental dysfunction, and it requires a professional diagnosis and treatment.

The most common causes for traumatic brain injury and brain dysfunction are severe sports injuries, vehicular accidents, or drowning that leaves the brain deprived of oxygen for a period of time.

Traumatic injuries to the brain can occur in one or more parts of the brain including the parietal lobe, occipital lobe, temporal lobe, brain stem, and cerebellum.
